At first
being in the Army was nothing too much. That basic training program
they put you through was like kindergarten stuff to me. I didn't feel
any physical strain like some of the guys. I got some special
privileges, of course, but I was still a soldier in the Army. Met a
lot of nice guys, and living that way reminded me of my amateur
fighting days when different athletic clubs would barnstorm together
across the country. At first the guys would be in awe of me-like I was
some kind of king, but I loosened them up. Nothing like a good card
game with little side bets and some woman talk and some lies-you can
get tired of always talking about fights and fighters. |
